The idea for the trade fair gadget was born in the run-up to WoTS 2020. After a brainstorming session with involved participants, the idea of developer Dekimo was chosen; a voice recorder in the shape of a parrot. The gadget records voices and can play them in a number of funny distorted variations. After the WoTS fair could not take place in 2020, the project was further developed and transformed into the 'E&A parrot'. After this fair unfortunately came too early, the WoTS parrot is back and determined to appear at the fair next year!
The WoTS parrot is a voice recording device in the shape of a parrot with a built-in microphone that records a line of text lasting a few seconds. The built-in microcontroller distorts this using a number of nice special effects and plays the spoken text through the built-in speaker. The trade fair gadget appears in a limited edition of 1,500 pieces. After completing a number of steps on the show floor, from collecting components to unlocking special effects, the Parrot is complete and ready to use!
Dekimo – Leuven, developed and created the functional layout of the E&A Parrot. Saar Drimer from Eurocircuits took care of the artistic front of the PCB as developer. In addition, it produces Eurocircuits the prototypes and the PCB series. A1 Electronics assembles the PCBs before the start of the fair. In addition to these involved participants, another 18 companies are involved in this project in the form of component sponsorship, carrying out various tests or as a financial sponsor. This once again shows that the cooperation between the Industrial Electronics members is going well.
