Elektro Line PV-Isotest insulation resistance tester for PV installations
The PV Isotest from Elektro Lijn is a multifunctional instrument for testing the insulation resistance of PV installations. The device offers a test voltage up to 1,500 V DC and tests the safety of the installation according to IEC/EN62446 and SCIOS scope 12 (TD18).
The PV Isotest measures and assesses the insulation resistance of the active conductors of a panel, string or complete photovoltaic field, without using an external switch to short-circuit the positive and negative connections. A single test displays the insulation resistance values of both the negative and positive sides of the field, allowing the user to easily locate the possible fault.
The instrument also features diagnostic functions such as Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR) and Polarization Index (PI), which can be used to determine the current condition of the insulation. With the GFL function (Ground Fault Locator) the location of low insulation resistance can be found in a string of PV panels due to, for example, water or damage. The PV-Isotest is supplied in a handy carrying case with accessory package and reporting software.
