Elmo Motion Control (Elmo), a leading supplier of advanced motion control systems, introduces the ultra-high current Gold-Oboe version, enabling machine builders to control high-torque servo motors in a small footprint.

As part of Elmo’s ongoing commitment to delivering advanced motion control systems for complex applications, we investigated the market need for high-voltage, higher-current servo drives. Drawing on Elmo’s 30 years of expertise in high-power density servo technology, we were able to develop the groundbreaking 230 VAC Gold Oboe that can now drive motors up to 16 A (up to 5 kW).

The Gold Oboe is a series of intelligent, super-compact, super-efficient servo drives that operate directly on mains power, 3-phase or single-phase. With a peak power of over 10,000 W, ultra-fast response time, wide bandwidth, better than 1:2000 dynamic current loop range and built-in high-performance regeneration, the G-Oboe is a perfect servo drive for applications that require very high dynamics, extreme precision and smoothness with fast movements. Gold Oboe drives are equipped with high-speed EtherCAT and Safety Torque Off (STO – SIL3). Versions of the Gold Oboe are also available for 3-phase 480 VAC, with a maximum continuous current of 10 A.
