Residual current monitoring is an essential safety component in, for example, publicly accessible EV charging systems. The residual current device or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is activated if a user makes unwanted contact with a live part.
The current measuring coil measures a leakage current to ground and generates a signal that completely switches off the application.

The XFMRS XFWULDC100T‐EUGFCI‐A coil provides this current measurement function in the application. The coil is developed as a safety component for the EV market, but can also be used in medical applications.
