Han® 34 HPR: higher power density in the high current range for railway vehicles

HARTING introduces Han® 34 HPR EasyCon – the new solution for increased environmental requirements in the high-current range. This connector has a high power density, which makes it particularly suitable for use in railway vehicles, e.g. car transporters (angled version) and connections to traction unit motors (straight version).

Han® 34 HPR housings and mounting frames are designed in such a way that for the first time, four 650 A contacts can be placed next to each other in a single interface. This more than doubles the current-carrying capacity compared to the next size reduction. HPR connector, This saves the customer space.

So far, two housings equipped with 6 Han-Modular® individual modules have been used to achieve a comparable power supply. The series offers more than a hundred different inserts for the transmission of energy, signals and data, allowing for numerous combination options. Intelligent modules in the smart Han® range complete the range: the ID module gives railway components an identity that can be called up by networks. In addition, networks can be expanded by integrating the new 4-port Ethernet switch US4, which takes up little space.
