Powering the future with solar energy: The HAN Solarboat's partnership with Eurocircuits
At HAN University of Applied Sciences, an enthusiastic team of students from different study programs, together with experts from Qconcepts Design & Engineering, are working on an exciting project—the HAN Solarboat. This boat, powered entirely by solar energy, showcases what's possible with sustainable technology. The HAN Solarboat team competes in both national and international races, continuously improving their boat to perform even better.
With the 2024 racing season behind us, we are now preparing for an exciting 2025 season. This includes races like the NK Zonnebootrace and the Ultimate Solar Boat Challenge, also known as the “Eleven Cities Tour” of solar boat racing. As we gear up for these events, we're thrilled to have Eurocircuits as a trusted partner and sponsor once again.
Innovation with Eurocircuits: upgraded PCB technology
This year, we're updating our boat with new printed circuit boards (PCBs) from Eurocircuits, which are essential for the cockpit's control system. These PCBs control the buttons in the cockpit and send data to our database through the CAN-bus system. This year's PCB has an important upgrade: it now provides both a light and sound signal when the motor controller starts up.
This improvement allows our pilot to know the engine is on without needing to check inside the compartment. It's also safer for the team, as everyone nearby is aware the motor is ready once the throttle is applied.
High-Quality PCBs, delivered fast
With Eurocircuits, we receive high-quality PCBs that arrive quickly—usually within three business days. Their fast and reliable service helps us make improvements and get back to testing without delays, which is crucial as we prepare for the new season.
With Eurocircuits' support, we are confident in our equipment and excited for the 2025 racing season. We look forward to using these upgrades in our upcoming races and showing the world what's possible with solar power and smart engineering.
