To create a good design, the PROFINET organization (PI) has developed guidelines. However, these are often difficult for users to convert into an actual design.
Helmholz has developed a training course for this. This training covers the different steps during the design phase and explains the rules of PI. The training covers all aspects of design. For example, the choice of cable is discussed, and attention is paid to the data flows on the network. Naturally, aspects of component selection, such as selecting the right switches, are also discussed.
After the training, the participant is able to endorse the value and risks of a PROFINET network. With the available knowledge, the participant is able to make conscious considerations regarding the design of the installation.
