The semiconductor industry is essential to the high-tech sector. During the WoTS Stories Program the presentations by Intel, TSMC and Imec on Tuesday 27 September from 1:00 PM to 4:15 PM will provide a complete picture of the importance of this sector.

The English-language presentations will cover investment, production, R&D and support for start-ups. The speakers will highlight the importance of digitalisation, activities in Europe, opportunities with manufacturing technologies and cooperation in the chain.

Maurits Tichelman from Intel opens the WoTS Stories program around the chip industry with the lecture 'Shaping the European digital decade. Together.' He will outline how Intel wants to anticipate the European plans to significantly accelerate the production of semiconductors in Europe. The chipmaker has already announced large-scale investments for this, with Intel working with a large number of parties.

On behalf of TSMC, Paul de Bot speaks. The title is 'The foundry industry and the possibilities with fabrication technologies for semiconductors'. The Bot will focus on the semiconductor industry as a whole and the specific qualities of TSMC as a major chip manufacturer.

Romano Hoofman from imec will give a lecture entitled 'Services and support for deep-tech start-ups in the semiconductor industry'The imec.IC-link division helps startups by offering a complete ASIC platform.

The future of the semiconductor industry is shown by several startups. They will discuss the future of the semiconductor industry with special envoy of techleap.nl HRH Prince Constantijn of Orange.
