The new generation Piros infrared sensors from Proxitron have been specially developed for detection under extreme conditions.
They detect hot and cold objects and are not hindered by steam, water mist, dust pollution or heat sources in the background. The sensors are equipped with a test function, contamination detection and output signaling for optimal operation and monitoring of your (production) process.
The standard robust stainless steel housing ensures that the sensors can be used up to an ambient temperature of 70°C. When using a cooling jacket up to 200°C and in combination with fiber optics, they can even be used up to 600°C ambient temperature. This makes them suitable for use in many extreme applications, such as the production of steel where the steel comes out of the oven red-hot.
The detection distance of 2500 meters ensures that the transmitter received version can effortlessly see through cooling water steam and can be mounted at an appropriate distance from the heat source if necessary.
Thanks to the response time of 1ms, quickly passing objects are effortlessly detected by these tough guys.
