Dutch industry saw average daily production increase by 3.4 percent in October compared to the same period last year. Production in the transport equipment industry in particular grew strongly.

That reports CBS. At 3.4 percent, the increase in October is slightly higher than the increase of 3.1 percent in September. The transport equipment industry managed to produce almost 10 percent more in October than in October 2017. The machine industry and the metal products sector also showed above-average growth.

If the figures are corrected for seasonal and working day effects, production increased by 0.4 percent from September to October. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, industrial production has never been this high before.

Producer confidence in the industry has also increased, according to November figures. Producers were mainly more positive about expected activity and inventories of finished products.
