The steering committee of IT Room Infrastructure gives in a interview by Datacenterworks which major changes have been implemented. The emphasis is on knowledge transfer. The themes Always on!, Cost control, Risk & Security, Sustainability and ICT Trends have been chosen to provide strong content to the visitors of the event.
The radical innovations are both in the preparation process and the final result. The presentations are neutrally set up, in order to offer as much knowledge transfer as possible on the mentioned themes. Through workshops with members and the results from the visitor survey, the steering group has chosen the most relevant themes for the target groups of the IT Room Infra event.
Gerbert-Jan Meijerink of Schäfer IT-Systems puts it this way: 'We have held a number of brainstorming workshops with our members and in them we asked the question: what exactly do our customers want to see? Themes such as security, energy supply and cost savings come to the fore. Based on that we are going to set up lectures'.
That is the basis, but additional expertise is also offered. Ronald Udo of AP Nederland: 'We are thinking of inviting a white hat hacker. I don't know if visitors dare, but we can see if he can get into a company website in half an hour. You can learn a lot from that.'
Intensive communication
This means that learning can take place both on the trade fair floor and in the lecture programme. This will also be filmed live and shown on screens during the event. Communication during and after the event will be more intensive, but the knowledge provided will also be communicated more strongly beforehand.
Through articles on the site, messages in online media and newsletters, the diversity in the program is more prominent. Chairman of the steering group Elbert Raben of Rittal: 'By consulting well with the members, we are on the desired tracks for the upcoming event.'
