The Itech IT-M3900C is a regenerative and compact DC power supply and another innovation in terms of versatility and precision. This line is a nice addition to the existing bi-directional DC range Itech and covers the range from 2kW to 12kW. This in very compact housings of only 1U height at 6kW and 2U height at 12kW. An extensive range of voltage ranges is available from 10V to 1500V, making the IT-M3900C suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Design

The main functionality of this DC power system is to combine a bi-directional power supply with a regenerative electronic load in one housing. Depending on the circumstances, the IT-M3900C automatically and quickly switches between power and load with a minimum of current and voltage overshoot. While serving as a load, the regenerative design ensures that 95% recovers energy from the mains. This means considerable savings on electricity costs and heat development in the IT-M3900C is reduced to a minimum.

The IT-M3900C regenerative power system is modular and flexible by design to cover a wide range of applications. Multiple units can be used simultaneously or independently for multi-channel applications. If higher powers are required, the power supplies can easily be connected in parallel. In this way, a multi-functional system can easily be built for both higher power applications and multi-channel applications.

Applications

Thanks to its bi-directional nature and variable output impedance, the ITECH IT-M3900C can be used excellently as a battery emulator. With the battery simulation function, different battery profiles can be created by setting the voltage, capacity, internal resistance and the SOC (State of Charge). There is also the option to simulate solar panels. With all this functionality, the IT-M3900C, together with an ITECH grid emulator, can be an excellent service for setting up and simulating a microgrid consisting of home batteries, EV batteries and solar panels.

The IT-M3900C series is available with the usual communication interfaces and compatible with most communication protocols.
