Itech, supplier of Power test solutions, has released a striking line of programmable, high-power, AC/DC power supplies with the IT7800 series. The Itech IT7800 programmable AC/DC power supplies deliver a power of up to 15 kVA in a housing that is only 3U high. This with a voltage range of 0-350 V LN and soon also suitable for 0-500V LN. What is immediately noticeable is the intuitive touch screen, which guarantees smooth operation. The Itech IT7800 is also equipped with a built-in power meter and waveform generator with which, in addition to various waveforms, harmonic distortion can also be programmed. By connecting the Master-Slave units in parallel, this makes configurations possible up to 960 kVA.
What is special is the fact that the Itech IT7800 has 4 output modes. In addition to the AC, DC and AC + DC modes, the DC+AC mode is also available. This means that an AC grid + DC offset and a DC grid + AC ripple can be generated. This is for both 1 and 3 phase applications. With the striking new “reverse phase” function, the standard 350Vac is doubled to 700Vac.
The STEP, LIST and PULSE mode makes the Itech IT7800 series suitable for simulating changing AC and DC grids. This includes, for example, short-lived PQ events. The analysis and simulation up to the 50th harmonic and the programmable output impedance make the Itech IT7800 suitable for many applications, including standard IEC testing. Remote control is possible via the standard USB/CAN/LAN and digital I/O interfaces.
