Wireless sensor via MQTT to the CLOUD (practical example)

On March 24, Dirk Kop will provide a practical case on behalf of JUMO focused on wireless temperature monitoring in an industrial network environment. Industrial Ethernet was used for this.

This concerns wireless temperature measurement and monitoring of big bags filled with fertilizer. If the temperature in the big bags exceeds the preset maximum value of 65 °C, smouldering occurs and the risk of fire increases.

In this application, 200 wireless sensors are used that monitor the time span as well as the temperature. If the temperature rises too quickly within the agreed time span, an alarm message is issued. All sensor signals arrive at multiple receivers, which together form a complete network and send the process data to the Cloud via MQTT.

The CLOUD provides a clear picture of the entire process via graphic visualization. The operator can easily and quickly find out the up-to-date status of the process, including alarms, using dashboard technology.

On March 24, JUMO will show visitors which technologies have been used in this practical case on temperature monitoring with wireless sensors.
