The anniversary conference of the Environmental Technology Platform (PLOT) was a great success. Nearly a hundred members, speakers and other interested parties were present at Railcenter in Amersfoort on October 13 to celebrate PLOT's 25th anniversary. Project manager Melvin Brink looks back on the conference with a good feeling: “It was a festive day. You sit together with a relatively small group of like-minded people to reflect on the history of the field and PLOT. Due to the small-scale nature of the event, it could almost be called cozy. The location was also unique. Normally you are in a business conference center, but in... Rail center you will stay in the technical heart of the rail sector. ”

The day focused on the history of the association and current developments within the field. Jos Gabriels, Railcenter training manager, kicked things off with a presentation about Railcenter, followed by six lectures from experts in the field of environmental technology. New this year were the elevator pitches whereby exhibitors presented themselves briefly and powerfully to their audience.

Cap on cap off

After the technical program, we sought interaction with the audience. Through the interactive game 'cap on cap off' visitors voted on statements about the future of environmental technology. The statements were examined by a three-person panel of (former) board members and PLOT celebrities. It resulted in interesting discussions that were discussed extensively during the drinks.

Guided tour of the Rail Center

One of the highlights of the day was... the tour in and around Railcenter. “Visitors were given a unique insight into the technology surrounding the rail sector,” says Brink: “As a visitor, you could see with your own eyes how testing and measuring rails and switches works in practice. Safety systems were simulated at the back of the building where tests are also carried out and we could see how they function in the building relays see up close.”

Champagne and stew

The clinking of glasses was the moment to celebrate 25 years of PLOT. This festive day ended in style with a refreshing glass of champagne. Finally, there was a discussion while enjoying a traditional Dutch stew buffet. We thank all visitors, exhibitors and Railcenter for the successful event!
