Small, flat, no higher than 7.8 millimeters. The SFM safety relay with forced contacts saves space on the printed circuit board, limits wiring compared to a DIN rail module to a minimum and meets the required EN61810-3 standard. The SFM is also available as a through-hole reflow version for automatic assembly.

These safety relays are among the smallest on the market, allowing them to be used within an application rather than placed separately next to it.

Because each relay has only one make and one break contact, the cause of a fault condition is quickly found. This makes the SFM ideal in a modular design, in contrast to multi-pole relays. Furthermore, the SFM is very energy-efficient, with a holding load of only 100mW. The applications can be very diverse, such as safety relays in industrial machines, escalators, monitoring for train doors, access control, etc.
