Seifert Electronic can provide cooling profiles with a phase-change material (PCM) ex works. This creates a combination of excellent thermal conductivity with a smooth surface, on which components that dissipate a lot of power can be easily placed.

The 150µm layer is screen-printed onto the cooling profile in the desired shape and dimensions. The thermal conductivity is 3.4 to 4.0 W/mK, depending on the materials used.

The PCM layer changes from a solid to a more liquid form between 45 and 60°C, filling micro-spaces between the cooling profile and the components, optimising heat transfer as much as possible. At room temperature, the PCM layer is dry and relatively hard, meaning that the cooling profiles do not require any special attention during processing and storage.
