Brief economic corona news from January 22

- The RIVM reports 5791 new corona infections on Friday, more than the weekly average. Hospitals saw an increase in admissions. There are now 2358 covid patients in hospital, of whom 674 in the ICU.
- The GGD has not detected large-scale spread of the British variant of the coronavirus in the municipality of Lansingerland. 45,000 people have been tested for the virus, reports RTL News.
- The German economy will grow by 3 percent this year. Earlier forecasts were for 4.4 percent growth, but new measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus have revised the forecast, reports Der Spiegel.
