- The RIVM reports 6671 new confirmed corona infections. That is 757 fewer than on Sunday. There are now 2,845 corona patients in hospitals, 135 more than on Sunday.
- The lockdown will be extended in both Germany and Austria. It reports that daily newspaper Bild based on insiders and the Austrian news agency APA. A record number of corona deaths and infections was reached in Germany last week.
- The United Kingdom is the first country in the world to start vaccinating with the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford. Half a million doses of the vaccine are available for the first week writes The Times.
- Last year, 71 percent fewer travelers went to and from Schiphol reports the airport. The airports in Eindhoven and Rotterdam also saw a sharp decline in passenger numbers in 2020.
