- The RIVM reports 17,562 new positive corona tests on Friday. That is 2,242 fewer than on Thursday and the lowest number since November 14.
- From next Monday, employers can apply for wage support for the months of November and December. Benefits agency UWV says that the NOW counter will reopen for the seventh time during the corona pandemic.
- The government is making 200 million euros available to help up to 800,000 households with their energy bills. This concerns a one-off contribution of 200 euros, reports the central government.
- The economy of Amsterdam and the surrounding region was hit much harder by the corona crisis in 2020 than the rest of the Netherlands. That reports the Amsterdam Metropolitan Region. This is a shrinkage of 7.1 percent compared to 3.8 in the Netherlands.
- Inflation in the United States rose to 6.8 percent in November. It reports that ministry of social affairs. The Fed is expected to accelerate the reduction of its asset purchase program.
