- The RIVM reports 1732 new positive tests on Thursday. That is 35 less than on Wednesday. On average, the number of positive corona tests is decreasing.
- 10.8 billion euros have been earmarked for financing corona measures for the coming year, according to numbers of the General Audit Office. In total, combating the corona crisis is expected to cost 82.1 billion euros in the period 2020-2022.
- To address the problem of major staff shortages, part-timers need to work more hours, advocates employers' association AWVNUnemployed people should also be better assisted in finding jobs.
- The sales prices of Dutch industry were on average 14.9 percent higher in August of this year than in August 2020. The increase is according to CBS mainly caused by higher oil prices.
- Due to the high electricity and gas prices, a number of smaller energy suppliers in Belgium have temporarily stopped offering fixed contracts. The companies are afraid that they could go under if they sell too many long-term contracts, writes De Tijd.
