- The RIVM reported 2349 new positive corona tests on Tuesday. That is 154 more than on Monday.
- Prices in the euro zone rose by 3 percent in August compared to a year ago. That says statistics agency Eurostat. This is the highest measured inflation since 2011.
- In Europe, 70 percent of the population has now been vaccinated, says EU Commission President Von der Leyen. That amounts to more than 250 million people. Von der Leyen calls on countries to continue vaccinations and also help other countries.
- Battery maker LeydenJar Technologies, which emerged as a spin-out from TNO, has raised 22 million euros from investors. The Eindhoven-based company wants to use the money to conduct further research into a super battery. LeydenJar is also aiming for an IPO, like this writes the FD.
- As of today, companies can apply for a fixed costs allowance (TVL) for the third quarter of 2021. It is the last time that the counter of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is open for TVL applications.
