Long life rechargeable lithium battery in demanding environment

The PLM series of rechargeable lithium batteries from EVE are specifically designed to provide high power in harsh environments while still offering a long life. The PLM was initially developed for automatic alarm calling in cars, automotive GPS and outdoor gas/electricity meters.

Other PLM features:

• After 1300 cycles > 90% remaining capacity
• Expected life 5000 cycles > 70% residual capacity
• Working temperature -40 to + 85°C
• Voltage 2.0 – 4.1V, 3.6V nominal
• Can be connected in series and/or parallel
• Use with BMS or PCM security print
• Load CC/CV
• Self-discharge approx. 2% per month

The PLM is available in two models:
PLM1550A : Ø15x 50mm (AA), 3.6V 350mAh, 2A continuous / 5A peak
PLM18650: Ø18x 65mm, 3.6V 1100mAh, 4A continuous / 10A peak

Compared to conventional rechargeable Lithium-Ion, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and NiMH cells, the performance at low and high temperatures is particularly astonishing. At -40°C, where Li-Ion / LFP batteries can no longer be used and NiMH cells only work for a few seconds, the PLM series still offers a 30-40% of capacity. The high temperature specifications are also excellent, also for storage.

The PLM cells comply with IEC62133, UL1642 and UN38.3, with superior safety features compared to standard Li-Ion.
