Ziath presents the LUX, the wireless and portable all-in-one scanner for 2D barcodes.

Ziath's wireless and portable all-in-one scanner LUX can scan SBS/SLAS racks anywhere and store or directly transmit the scan data. This makes it possible to scan samples close to their storage location. Think of freezers and cryogenic storage. The scanned samples can therefore better maintain their temperature, which improves their quality.

  • The LUX scanner can scan SBS/SLAS racks with 24, 48, 96, 240 and 384 2D Datamatrix tubes.
  • Scans a rack with 96 tubes in less than one second.
  • Works on a built-in battery but can also be connected to the mains.
  • It is a portable and cable-free all-in-one scanner with its own touchscreen that can be operated with nitrile gloves. 
  • The scan data is decoded and stored or sent very quickly by the built-in DP5 software.
  • Ports for external storage media (USB and SD) are built in as standard.
  • The glass plate is coated with Cryoprotection, which prevents fogging of the scanning surface due to temperature differences.

The LUX has a robust design for daily use and is stable on the worktop. If necessary, a keyboard and mouse can be connected.
Samples can be used for longer if storage requirements such as temperature are met. When samples are left out of storage for extended periods of time, they can deteriorate in quality or even become unusable. Samples are often unique and taken from patients. The unnecessary re-issue of material is prevented by storing and handling samples as well as possible. The LUX can play a positive role in this.
By preventing samples from heating up, the energy consumption of freezers and cryogenic storage is also limited. The smaller the difference in temperature of the sample before and after the scan, the less energy is used to restore the desired storage temperature. The LUX can also play a positive role here.
