Efficiency is not ignored in Alcon's production process. The company is considered a world leader in eye care and supplies, among other things, pouches containing accessories for eye surgery. This also applies to the production location in Puurs, Flanders, where they package the pouches as sterile as possible. The manual sealing and checking of the pouches went well, as they knew in Puurs. But what if the process could be automated? Which would allow employees to have a different role in the production process and also reduce the risk of incorrectly assessed pouches even further? Alcon asked us to think along with them.
