From September 2020 it is New Work project in The Beacon in Antwerp. MCS has been selected to make our technologies known in this project. The Beacon building has been opened as a test bed to test new technologies. These technologies should make a positive contribution to health, well-being and productivity in the workplace.

The project is a partnership between the real estate sector and the technology sector. During the process, The Beacon will study three crucial preconditions. Privacy, security and communication. A report with recommendations will also be written on this.

WORK MORE EFFICIENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY THROUGH NEW WORK PROJECT

In this project we use our IoT knowledge to Private LoRa network to test for organizations that want to use IoT applications. The goal is to make them work more efficiently and effectively. On this Private LoRa network, various smart sensors connected. These sensors collect data for smarter building management. The data is combined in a specially developed dashboard. By analyzing the data, The Beacon gains clear insight into building management. This immediately contributes to health, well-being and productivity on the work floor.

The technology is tested for user acceptance. The New Work project answers the following questions:

  • How do people interact with this technology in the office?
  • How can the efficiency and use of this technology be increased?
  • What do we need to do to ensure that the technology can have a significant impact?

SMART BUILDING AS A SOLUTION FOR COVID-19 CHALLENGES

Now that normal office life is slowly resuming, it is unfortunately not the same as before. Face masks, disinfectant gel and gloves have become commonplace. To make the workplace fully resilient, more is needed, now and in the future. Technology plays an important role in this. The Beacon wants to be a pioneer in this matter.

The coronavirus poses challenges for many organizations. For example, consider the distribution of employees at least 1.5 meters or counting people at a location. Smart Building is a technology that offers solutions to these challenges. With this project, The Beacon wants to be prepared for possible new health risks. Our network technology supports them in avoiding these risks.

WORKING WITH PARTNERS
