In the Netherlands, a lot of measurements are taken and data is collected. But there are also things that have not yet been measured, for example, we have no idea how many microplastics are floating in our rivers. Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) has started research into microplastics in the Rhine and the Meuse. The microplastics in a sediment of the water sample are measured using a Pyrolysis GC-MS system.
