Microsoft has announced that it will only release security updates from May. This requires fewer operating system restarts. The software giant says it will keep Windows running as stable as possible during the corona crisis.

This is a measure for all Windows versions: from the recent Windows 10 1909 to Windows Server 2008. The temporary stop concerns so-called B, C and D releases. Such releases do not contain critical security updates.

It is unclear why Microsoft does not stop its rollout of non-essential updates in April. The software giant has also yet to indicate when the complete update program will be resumed.
