Pipetting: precision work that requires utmost concentration and a steady hand. And a task where attention to proper execution, both physically and technically, is a must. That is why we are organizing the mini-training 'liquid handling' for laboratory technicians and lab managers during WoTS 2022.

At the end of this mini-training you will know…

  • Ergonomic pipetting with the right materials
  • How to move from manual testing to an automated platform
  • Which variables influence this transfer
  • What are the critical parameters of a workflow to be automated
  • How liquid handling works with PAL Robotics

A valuable afternoon
Learn not only from the trainers, but also from each other. We stimulate interaction by limiting the number of participants to 25. The day also starts with a tasty lunch, where there is room to talk to each other. Then we go through three modules, with a break in between:

  • Pipetting: one of the most used, elementary laboratory techniques. Often also repetitive and physically demanding. That is why we will practice with the correct posture and learn the use of the correct materials, to prevent pain in the upper body and RSI complaints. This component is provided by Eppendorf.
  • Automate: we dive into the world of liquid handling. Which variables influence the transition from manual to automated pipetting? How do we ensure a successful transition from human work to automation? Analis provides this module.
  • Robotize: Finally, we delve into quality. What is the role of the lab professional when working with automated liquid handling? Specifically in working with PAL Robotics, which our collaboration partner Axel Semrau tells us about.
  • During the training there is plenty of room to bring in practical cases and your own questions. We would even like to: this way we ensure an interactive course with concrete lessons to use in practice.

Do you have a case you would like to discuss during the training? Please email this to us directly.

    We bundle our knowledge
This mini-training liquid handling is a collaboration between Axel Semrau, Analis and Eppendorf. A bundling of knowledge in itself, because they each bring substantive input for this training from their own perspective. Laboratory professionals with knowledge of liquid handling and everything that comes with it will take you on this day into the world of manual and automatic pipetting.
