In this video, Sales Manager Eric Megens explains how to mount a gearbox to an engine. We see what is included with a gearbox, how to degrease it and then mount it to an engine.
What to look out for when mounting the gearbox to the engine
When mounting the gearbox to the engine it is essential that you pay attention to the following:
- setting the torque wrench to the correct torque as indicated in the installation manual
- thoroughly degrease the engine shaft, (input) hollow shaft and any reducing sleeve
- turn the four engine bolts crosswise into the flange so that the spring washers are pressed in
- Only after tightening the engine bolt to the correct torque should you fully tighten the engine bolts crosswise
