Thanks to the “Module Type Package” module manufacturers are able to strengthen their position as suppliers within the installation technology sector. This statement can be explained by the fact that the development work is reflected in the further development of machines or installation modules, without having to use interface tools or the integration of software in the process control level. In addition, smaller machine builders in particular with MTP are no longer faced with the dilemma of having to employ their own experts in the field of control systems. This aspect currently results in medium-sized, highly specialized module manufacturers often playing hardly any role in installation technology, simply because the competence in the field of control systems is lacking.

The “Module Type Package” (MTP) describes the properties of process modules functionally – independent of manufacturer and technology. The autonomous modules, which can be from different manufacturers, can be easily reused and bundled into complex systems with little effort. The independent functions in the modules reduce the mutual dependency and in this way guarantee an almost feedback-free behavior of the system.
