Optical filters are a seemingly unassuming – almost invisible – part of infrared cameras, scanners, sensors and detectors.
PSC has with the extremely transparent Solaris IR360 a near infra red (NIR) filter that blocks the entire visible spectrum and UV light. There are great functional advantages to be gained when optical filters are selected for the exact application:
- optimal transmission of only the desired wavelengths
- preventing unwanted reflections from multiple sensors
- preventing interference with surrounding sensors
All this will result in a faster working product with a reliable sensor image.
Infrared filters can be integrated perfectly into a housing, creating an aesthetic whole. The sensor or camera is less visible or recognizable as such. It also offers protection against weather influences or vandalism.
NIR cameras and sensors are used for high-speed in-line process controls in the food industry, iris scanners, LiDAR applications, license plate recognition and (night) cameras.
