From September 1st, Vincent Bekhuis and Alain Huysmans will take over the daily management of Nijkerk Electronics from Ed Djie. After 19 years at Nijkerk Electronics and more than 40 years in the electronics industry, Ed Djie is starting the next phase in his life. With Vincent and Alain, the continuity of Nijkerk Electronics is guaranteed. Both have also been working at Nijkerk Electronics for more than 20 years and have a technical background. In recent years, they have been closely involved in the daily management and from September 1st, they will directly manage the teams in the Netherlands and Belgium. The focus on complete solutions in the field of display technology and passive power components remains unchanged.
Complete range of display and touchscreens
Since 2008, Vincent Bekhuis has been responsible for display technologies at Nijkerk Electronics. Vincent: “Since 2008, my goal was to strongly grow the display and touchscreen segment within Nijkerk Electronics. At the time, the product range was limited and so was the number of customers for displays and touchscreens. I strongly believe that unburdening our customers is an important aspect, so I looked for more manufacturers for, compatible, display and touchscreen products. Now we sell all types of display and touchscreen technologies, we have the right products in-house for every application. This makes us perfectly capable of unburdening our customers on both a technical and logistical level. Our goal is to steadily grow this segment.”
Combination of components for (high) power applications
Alain Huysmans has been responsible for passive power components as product manager since 2007 and still sees many opportunities for this segment. Alain: “Developments such as sustainable energy, energy storage and electric transport have led to a huge increase in demand for passive power components in recent years. This demand will certainly not decrease in the coming years. New applications at our customers require new, innovative products from our suppliers. As one of the few distributors that specialise in (high) power components, we can offer a combination of products that are needed in these new applications. Think of (super) capacitors, contactors, fuses and busbars. We have a lot of technical knowledge, not just about one specific component, but about the entire application. We notice that customers really appreciate this technical insight.”
Ready for challenge
Both Vincent and Alain are looking forward to this new challenge, although they will certainly miss working with Ed Djie. Vincent: “I have worked with Ed in a pleasant way almost from the moment I started at Nijkerk Electronics. I have learned a lot from this collaboration and I will benefit from it in the coming years. Alain adds: “Ed has meant a lot to Nijkerk Electronics in 19 years. He has ensured that Nijkerk Electronics is still a stable and innovative player in a rapidly changing market. It is up to us to continue this!”
