Elma Electronic has released a new 3U 12-slot backplane that aligns with The Open Group Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Technical Standard 1.0. The backplane supports the latest open standard requirements from the US military, among others.
The new 3U OpenVPX backplane offers a mix of plug-in card (PIC) slots that enable complex, high-speed signal processing and system development.
It features two switch slots, a PNT timing slot, nine payload slots and two VITA 62 PSU slots. The AUX CLK, REF CLK and GPIO signals are also routed to headers for external access.
It supports up to 100 Gigabit Ethernet and features the latest high-speed RF and optical connectors (VITA 67.3 & VITA 66.4).
This new backplane lays the foundation for system development of high-quality mission critical C5ISR and EW systems and enables complex, fast signal processing.
