As the Open Group Sensor Open Standards Architecture, or SOSA initiative, continues to be completed, Elma has added two 3U backplanes to its growing product family aligned with Snapshot 3 of the SOSA Technical Standard. These 6-slot and 8-slot backplanes provide the foundation for complex, high-speed signal processing systems and are available with or without VITA 67.3 connectors for timing and RF connectivity.
The backplanes include the latest typologies and connectors for precise network timing and slot profiles for SBCs, switches, radial clocks and proprietary extensions. All data paths support high-speed signals with 25Gb throughput.
Using these new backplanes, system designers can develop mission critical systems that are tailored to SOSA. This means they have lower design costs and rapid technology adaptation. These backplanes mainly find their way into defense systems such as radar systems.
