XP Power has launched two new series of AC-DC power supplies that offer the more stringent BF class isolation for medical applications where excellent EMC performance is a primary requirement. Body Floating (BF) means that an application is continuously connected to a patient.
The PBR500 and PBR650 series offer power levels up to 500W and 650W respectively. Both series accept a very wide, universal input range and are available in eight different output voltages 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 28V, 36V, 48V and 57V.
Both series offer an efficiency of 90%, with limited heat generation, which extends the lifespan.
The PBR500 is available in two sizes. The U-channel format offers 350-400W with convection cooling and 450-500W with external forced air cooling.
The covered version is 450-500W and has a built-in variable speed fan for noise reduction.
The PBR650 delivers 600-650W in the same configuration.
