NIR Software for the food industry: against food fraud and for transparency in the chain
Chemometric Brain is a newly launched software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. It aims to identify food fraud and increase transparency in the global supply chain. This cloud-based software uses Near Infrared (NIR) technology to ensure the traceability, suitability and homogeneity of ingredients and food products. The software is able to consolidate all NIR spectra from multiple devices and multiple manufacturers into one place. So, for example, if you have a MicroNIR spectrometer from Viavi If you have purchased or are planning to purchase Chemometric Brain, this may be a useful addition.
Chemometric Brain is a system that identifies and compares the composition of many types of samples. This is especially true in recipes with multiple ingredients. The technology works for powders, solids, gels and liquids. Some of the most popular categories: sports supplements, baby milk, all types of food powders such as cocoa and coffee, but also honey and olive oil.
Chemometric Brain uses a qualitative approach to identify how a sample blueprint fits into the standard library previously created for the same product and then highlights any variation of the specific product. It allows you to have much better control over raw materials and finished products and trace food moving through the supply chain globally. The solution can be used to identify raw materials, detect potential changes in supplier processes, ensure exact mixture composition, better determine the expected shelf life of the product or analyze physicochemical properties, among other things.
Chemometric Brain has hundreds of product libraries available, which are the result of 12 years of research and can be quickly implemented in any food company.
