Call for speakers on sustainability in the industry
How can the industrial chain respond to the wishes of global producers when it comes to sustainable development? winding targets? What ways are there to improve the logistics value chain? Which circular techniques may already have been proven, reduce the Total Cost of Ownership and have a positive effect on the ecological footprint? For Industrial Processing the trade fair organization recommends inspiring speakers with a good story about sustainability in the industry.
Partly in response to the success of the General Meeting of the Machevo & Bulk association, co-organizer of Industrial Processing, the desire has arisen to include sustainability at the fair in September.
For example, during last November's AGM, Remco Kok, CEO of sausage manufacturer Stegeman, spoke about Stegeman's new course. He showed that the world is changing and the process industry is slowly moving along. But where should they start when it comes to sustainability, less waste and the increasing number of vegetarians? “That starts with the DNA of the company, not with the principle that you have to become sustainable,” the speaker explains. “Think about what you stand for and how that fits into the spirit of today.” With that view, Stegeman is now charting a new course: 0% waste, 50% meat and 100% transparency. At the invitation of Remco, Machevo members will soon be able to taste what this new course tastes like – sausages with vegetables that are almost indistinguishable from meat – in Stegeman's kitchen.
