Damian followed the PLCnext Certified Engineer ASSOCIATE training at Phoenix Contact Academy and concluded with a test of competence. The test of competence consists of developing an application that makes optimal use of the unique characteristics of PLCnext Technology. The PLCnext Certified Engineer certificate is a quality label for software engineers who want to distinguish themselves in the market with their knowledge of PLCnext Technology.
A certified engineer is able to create a solution app for the PLCnext Controllers, making optimal use of the PLCnext Technology ecosystem. A solution app is a real-time application for the PLCnext Controllers and contains a mix of technologies, such as IEC programs and C++ programs. In addition, the engineer knows which requirements a real-time C++ program must meet and is able to let the app communicate (via OPC-UA or REST, for example) with other apps in the PLCnext Controller.
