Producer confidence remains stable in August

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Brexit and the trade war between the US and China, producer confidence in the industry remained stable in August.

According to Statistics Netherlands put producer confidence at 3.9, the same value as in July of this year. Although entrepreneurs are less positive about the order book and stocks, they are more positive about the expected activity.

Entrepreneurs are most optimistic in the textile and clothing industry, while the electrical and machinery industries are also positive. In the transport sector, pessimists are in the majority.
