Producer confidence in the industry improved in April. Compared to last month, the index rose from 6.1 to 6.7.
That reports CBS. Entrepreneurs were mainly more positive about expected activity and inventories. The opinion about the order book did deteriorate. After the textile, clothing and leather industry, the electrical and machinery sector had the highest producer confidence in April.
Nevertheless, the three sub-indicators are positive. This means that there are more entrepreneurs who expect their production to increase in the next three months than entrepreneurs who anticipate a decrease in production. A greater number of entrepreneurs also consider their order portfolio large than those who consider it small. More entrepreneurs also see a shortage of merchandise in stock than a surplus in stock.
