Industrial production up more than 3 percent in May

Dutch industry saw its average daily production increase by 3.2 percent in May compared to May 2017. Production in the machinery industry in particular grew strongly.
That reports CBS. The increase in industrial production is somewhat lower than in April. Nevertheless, production has been 2.5 years higher than the same period a year earlier.
Significant growth in the machine industry
The machinery industry recorded a growth in production of almost 7 percent. Production in the rubber and plastics, transport equipment and electrical equipment industries also grew more strongly than the industry average.
According to the CBS, the trend in the production of the Dutch industry is positive. Since mid-2014, there has been an upward trend in industrial production.
