From theory to practice: experience it during PROFIdag 2023

PROFIdag 2023 is the opportunity to stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the field of PROFIBUS, PROFINET and IO-link. Whether you are an experienced professional or a newcomer to the world of industrial communication, the program offers a range of lectures, workshops and practical examples that will inform and inspire you.

What can you expect?

Perry Bouman, process automation specialist at Waterschap de Dommel, will discuss the implementation of TCP/IP in an OT environment during his keynote. In the ring network of Waterschap de Dommel, the Ethernet switches have been replaced to make the transition from PROFIBUS to PROFINET TCP/IP. This ring network is of crucial importance to Waterschap de Dommel and it is therefore quite a challenge to keep all systems running seamlessly during the transition period. Perry will take you through the process and point out how you can ensure that the implementation of TCP/IP communication in an OT environment is not only smooth, but also safe.

After the plenary lectures we dive into the depths. The morning program is dedicated to theory, after which we apply the acquired knowledge in the PROFItrain in the afternoon program.

The morning program offers you a choice of nine lectures. From network architecture and the core principles of PROFINET networks, via security of industrial applications, digitalization, the uncertain future, standardization, the unprecedented possibilities of IO-link, to the advantages and pitfalls of digitalization & IIoT. From theory to practice

After this information flow, it is time for lunch, to then continue with the practice. Students from Avans University of Applied Sciences take the visitors in groups along the companies present that make the acquired knowledge visible in practice live. The PROFItrain is a journey of one and a half hours in which you test the theory against practice with a head full of fresh knowledge. At the end of this course, a present is ready for the participants who have followed four or more sessions.

Finally, we invite everyone to take a seat and listen to Cees van de Noort from Dunea Duin & Water. In his keynote, he will tell more about the process that Dunea has set up to be able to check the level of external engineers.

And now, after a day full of content and practice, we will end the day together with a snack and a drink.
