Taking off from your own home and landing at your work? For the multidisciplinary team of students from TU-Delft, this is the future. After a year of hard work, the team presented the first prototype on September 24, 2019. We are pleased to announce that an Apex Dynamics gearbox can be found in it! We discuss the drive of this innovative aircraft and the vision of the team that underlies it.
Apex Dynamics supplied an AE090-004 for this application, a gear box with helical teeth and a rotating input bearing, so that higher input speeds can be achieved. A special lubricant was chosen as the lubricant, which is optimal for long-term or continuous use at high speeds.
