The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate has launched a campaign entitled 'Intellectual property: the crowning glory of your work' to inform entrepreneurs about the benefits of registering intellectual property.

According to European research registering intellectual property can lead to a significant increase in income for entrepreneurs, ranging from 68 percent for SMEs to 18 percent for large companies. Yet, less than 5 percent of Dutch entrepreneurs register their brand, model, patent or other intellectual property.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy is working on the campaign together with the Netherlands Patent Office/RVO.nl, the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property, the Chamber of Commerce and the Board for Plant Varieties. Via the website IEgoedidee.nl a central information point has been set up to help entrepreneurs.
