A nice application of the 2-channel HART-transparent (intrinsically safe) Isolator 9106 from PR electronics is that it can also be used as a signal doubler.
This option is included in the ATEX certificate and it is also permitted to use the unit in various SIL2/SIL3 applications. It is at least as useful that you can use this to galvanically separate a measurement from a safety loop and therefore also read it into the DCS. That saves an extra instrument, cable and process connection. (Also available for non-Ex applications)
