With the NEO VET, Vinatech has developed a series of 2.7V supercaps that can be used in situations with a high ambient temperature of up to +85°C and high relative humidity of up to 85%.

At high temperatures, derating must be taken into account. In combination with high humidity, wetting can even occur, causing a supercap to leak. Developers must take this into account in their design, for example by placing an extra super cap, which reduces the operating voltage. Extra components mean extra costs and a more complex circuit, which can be avoided with the NEO VET.

Features NEO VET series:

  • Capacity: from 3.3F to 15F
  • Working voltage: 2.7V
  • Working temperature: -40 +85°C
  • Anti-wetting electrolyte
  • Series packs possible

Supercaps are often used as UPS to be able to handle a final action when the power is switched off. With these specifications, supercaps can be used without many precautions in outdoor applications such as in automotive and rail transport, in control products for industrial processes, etc.
