Industrial environments, such as factories and production facilities, are full of equipment such as production lines, automation cabinets and machines. All this equipment contains many small components. For an efficient production facility, all equipment must support machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, which in most cases network connectivity required.
While this question seems obvious, implementing it is much more challenging than it sounds. It comes down to two challenges: ensuring robust, uninterrupted network support and space limitations due to the already developed architecture of existing systems.
Teltonika is continuously introducing products in the Ethernet and Wireless product division to meet solution needs. It is also based on this idea TSW114 plug-n-play switch developed. The TSW114 is designed for use in manufacturing facilities, warehouses and other scenarios where network connectivity is essential, but space for additional devices is the biggest challenge.
The TSW114 meets existing connectivity, deployment and space factors as it is equipped with an integrated DIN rail bracket that makes installation of the device very easy, fast and above all convenient.
The switch is equipped with 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, An 2-pin DC connection with one immediately next to it ground screw for enhanced device protection. All of these features are front-facing, meaning all wires can be connected to one side of the device making any solution instantly scalable.
It is also possible to place multiple TSW114 switches side-by-side, taking up very little space and providing robust network connectivity. The TSW114 has a wide range of supply voltages (9-30 V) and it can draw power from cables without additional wiring or plugs. And just like any other device from Teltonika's portfolio, the TSW114 is suitable for extreme temperature and harsh industrial environments.
