Review of visit Metafas and matchmaking with the EMVT association

On Friday, November 18, a group of ESD members paid a company visit to Metafas in Asten and enjoyed a very interesting tour under the guidance of Luc van Neer. Metaphas is a specialist in the development and production of front and control panels for machines (user interfacing), which form a “bridge” between man and machine.

The entire production line of this is in-house and therefore the entire (end) product can be manufactured from design to assembly, with all kinds of processing options, such as screen printing, pick and place, milling, punching and engraving. The unique combination advantages of a graphic and mechanical workshop in one. This makes small editions possible and Metafas is able to offer real customization.

A wide product range characterizes Metafas

In addition to front foils, touchscreens (membrane switches), and control panels, they also specialize in printed electronics. Through the combination of screen printing technology, electronics and years of knowledge and experience, all kinds of innovative applications are developed for various industries.

Metafas is clearly present in many market segments; Consider, for example, products for the medical world such as front foils and front panels.
Beautiful results can be achieved by using flexible films in combination with electronics. These are also frequently used in industries such as shipbuilding and process control.

Matchmaking EMVT – HAN

On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, we organized a matchmaking meeting with the EMVT (Electromagnetic Power Technology) association at HAN W@TTS in Arnhem. More than 20 members visited the 2019-opened special infrastructure for research and education in the field of energy technology.

Here you will find storage systems, practical sets for electrical engineering lessons, a so-called 'smart grid table' and training systems in which multiple energy components are linked together. This technology can be used by various parties for education and research.
