Review of matchmaking event on 'Electrification of transport' and ESD lunch session on Ionization
On Wednesday March 6th, 30 members of the EMC-ESD / EMVT association attended the meeting on 'Electrification of transport' at the University of Twente. After 6 fascinating and technical presentations on Power and EMC, we concluded the day with a tour of the Power/EMC labs of the University of Twente.
As was also evident in the presentations, there are still many challenges and steps to be taken in the area of further electrification of transport. These challenges require cooperation between electrical engineers, material scientists, mechanical engineers and experts from the fields of automotive, maritime, aerospace. Therefore, this topic will certainly return to our activities in the future.
ESD lunch session on Ionization
On March 28, Diederick Banté of Simco-Ion Technology Group an online lunch session on Ionization. In his presentation Diederick Banté addressed the question 'What to do when the requirements of a customer can no longer be met with a standard ionization solution such as a fan or rod?'.
As components become more and more sensitive to static charge, the maximum permitted voltage is creeping closer to 0V. In addition to the fact that this affects the ionization process itself, monitoring and reporting is also being raised to a higher level. Diederick discussed in detail what the possibilities are around 0V.
For interested members, the recording of the lunch session and the presentations on 'Electrification of Transport' can be viewed/downloaded via the 'Media Library' on the EMC-ESD website.
